Santana working with Nas, Scott Weiland and Joe Cocker on rock classics album
Carlos Santana is working on his next album which seems to become another “Supernatural"-style all-star collaboration. This time around it will be a collection of classic rock songs from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and others. The set is due out in September and is not titled yet. The track list is being finalized as well, but Santana is known to have reunited with Rob Thomas on Cream's "Sunshine Of Your Love", worked with Joe Cocker on a redition of Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing," and Scott Weiland on The Rolling Stones' "Can't You Hear Me Knocking," Chris Daughtry on Def Leppard's "Photograph," Soundgarden's Chris Cornell on Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love," Papa Roach`s Jacoby Shaddix on Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water" and Nas has rhymed on AC/DC's "Back in Black." Santana is planning to preview some of the covers during his summer tour with Steve Winwood. Meanwhile, Santana has finished work on another album as well, an all-instrumental set called "Shape Shifter" that he plans to release after the next album.

New Strokes album set for March 2011
According to Julian Casablancas the new Strokes album will be out next March. The singer said the album, which the other Strokes bandmembers have been recording without him, is halfway done. The new effort was previously planned to be out this year. Delays were caused by various reasons along with Casablanca’s solo career. The new Strokes album remains untitled at present.

Doobie Brothers reunite for new album
The Doobie Brothers have reunited with producer Ted Templeman for their first new album in 10 years. The set will be titled "World Gone Crazy" and is due on September 28. Singer/guitarist Tom Johnston has said that the group and Templeman have been working on the new effort for the past three years between touring and other activities. The album is said to be more musically diverse than previous efforts and incorporates Crescent City rhythms and horn charts. A guest appearance is done by Willie Nelson. The Doobie Brothers also re-recorded "Nobody," lead track from the band self-titled 1971 debut album, which will now be the first single.

New collaboration between Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse
Mark Ronson has recorded that he and Amy Winehouse have recorded a cover of Lesley Gore's 1963 song “It's My Party.” The two started working on the song in 2008, with the track set to appear on a forthcoming tribute album to producer Quincy Jones. It was Jones' first hit single as a producer, and a version by Dave Stewart and Barbara Gaskin hit European charts in 1981. A release date for the tribute album is yet to be set. As reported earlier, both Usher and Mariah Carey are rumored to be appearing

Elton John working with Leon Russell on new album
Elton John is working with singer/songwriter Leon Russell on a new album. Elton John recruited Russell for the album, tentatively entitled "The Union," after rediscovering Russell's music 40 years after they toured the US together. Russell played keyboards with artists like Phil Spector and the Beach Boys in the 1960s and 1970s and recorded some solo records as well. Both John and Russell worked with John's long-time songwriting partner Bernie Taupin and producer T Bone Burnett on the project, which also features guest appearances by Neil Young and Brian Wilson.
